PSA on driving in the snow. If you have booze and food at home no need to drive. If you must drive Be confident Getting scared and hitting the brakes when the vehicle shutters a little will only make you slide off the road. Dont drive in snow that is higher than the clearance of your car If you start to spin out turn into the spin just enough to straighten out You may have to turn into it on the other side if the car starts to fish tail Letting off the gas and not hitting the brakes is the best option Overpasses and under bridges freeze first so you may slip or feel different traction Just stay straight and steady If you go into a corner that in the wind or on an over pass expect the conditions to change and traction to change Slow down way before and dont ever hit the brakes in an icy or snow covered turn If you dont have traction control or anti lock brakes do not slam the brakes slowly press to floor , release, press slowly and repeat. Any sudden actions like jacking the wheel or slamming the brakes will cause problems. Go out and practice in a parking lot to get comfortable You dont have to drive like grandma but general rule of thumb Only drive as fast as you can see a couple telephone poles in front of you If objects pop out of no where your going to fast If I drive by you laughing and posting on Facebook with a coffee please take your hazards off get in your lane and speed up because your just scaring the people behind you and making them drive worse Now pop your 2015 winter driving cherry and lets all get back to life once the boys clean the streets for us. Its your tax money paying overtime so dont cause stupid issues out of ignorance which will cause more federal money to help us out. We need that money to kill ISIS savages.
