PSA to the Student Body in order to help you get an idea of the SGA is all about we humbly submit the following list of what the MUS SGA ED has accomplished. We encourage you to get involved and help contribute to making our institution and program better. Transcript issue regarding retakes. The school passed a rule that all retake grades would be on our transcripts and the SGA requested to reverse the decision and the school administration agreed. Numerous Potluck Dinners and parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas 2 Educational Programs with Norwegian Medical Student Association on how it insert IV cannulas and suturing Culture Night - 2013 This was an educational event about the various cultures combined with a social event with performances and dancing. Let’s Talk with IFMSA - This was a weekly meeting for students to practice English and discuss interesting topics. Zakopanie School Trip Krakow trip with other English Division Universities Christmas Charity giving gifts to Orphans Student Orientation Week (3 times) NBME Request – The school made a rule that each student has to pass the NBME first in order to take the USMLE STEP 1. They made a rule that each student can only try to take the NBME practice exam 3 times before they graduate and each time they take and fail it the passing score increases. The SGA requested to keep the passing score constant each time and provide unlimited opportunities to pass the practice NBME exam. This request was denied. Schedule Change request. The SGA is requesting that only the 6th year students to begin earlier in order to graduate earlier. Each year most residency programs start once a year in or around July. The purpose for this request is so that we can save 11 months and enter in residency in July of the same year. Graduation Ceremony Request. The SGA requested for an official graduation ceremony to be held in August after graduation rather than in November as it is currently scheduled; this was denied. Dorms living conditions and renovations. The SGA requested the Dean’s office to improve the students’ living conditions and make improvements to the dorms which the school administration agreed to. Dorm’s regulations. The SGA worked with the Polish Student Government, Dorms Office Management, and the school administration to make a set of rules and regulations to help resolve conflicts among residents in which two students from the English dorms are to be added to the Dorms Committee. The SGA created an official facebook page and notice boards in an effort to improve communication with the student body. We are hosting a Summer Ball on May 31, 2014.
