PSALM 91~ REFUGE IN OUR CONQUERING KING He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” (Psalm 91:1-2) The devil himself quoted and tried to twist the words of this blessed Psalm (vv.11-12) when he tempted Jesus from the pinnacle of the temple. Then the devil took Jesus into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU’; and ‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’ (Matthew 4:5-6) Remember, the only way to defeat the enemy is by standing on the truth and promise of Gods word. ”Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’” (Matthew 4:7) The devil was only bringing up half the truth of the promise that Gods angels would protect the feet of Jesus. Notice that the devil did not continue the Psalm lest he be reminded that the same foot that was protected by God would someday soon crush the head of the enemy. You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down. (Psalm 91:13) And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel. (Genesis 3:15) As you enjoy this blessed Psalm of protection, provision, and promise remember that the enemy has been defeated. our conquering King has crushed his head with His heel. youtube/watch?v=nc5ZUndEDLg
