It is the picture of a personal Relationship...He is mine.. I shall not want, He shall,provide for my every need.This is providential supplication every need we can think of is here and it is met daily..amen... David writes these psalms and speaks many times from his own experience, he was a good Shepherd and well aware of all he was saying.. All of the shepherds knew exactly what he was talking about because they lived this life with their own flocks.. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.. Now for a grazing animal Green Pastures, are the top of line..This is Fillet Mignon... He says he maketh me to lie down in them. So Its not just passing through amen its a lifestyle we get to marinate,Tarry and live a bit here amen.. Because in the wild or in the world things can become scary at times, so to stop, feed and relax with confidence is saying a mouthful... He leadeth me besides still waters. Now for animals this means safety many times water holes may have several types of predators in them and around them it is a very scary place for them .. Listen this is where crocodiles roam..But he does not choose that for me, he leads me beside still waters, a Safe haven, a safe place where I dont have to be afraid to get what I need .. Praise God.. He is attentive to the best care for me not some of the time but all the time..amen psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake.This is Important I can imagine how worn we get from Life and we are categorized as sheep for one main REASON,THEY are the Dumbest animals on earth.. Sheep will follow each other to slaughter.. They will watch each other go over a cliff and they will follow each other directly to death ..There is however a time when they are at their very best.. Under the leadership of the Shepherd.. So life can get rough for us and we need restoring just as sheep. The path can get dusty amen. Every verse is likened to the reality of both situations . He teaches us to do right for the right reasons.. Praise God it says because hes GOT a name..I love the end of 3 because it say for his namesake.. Our God leads by Example, in Proverbs it says HE has a name and it is to be CHERISHED above fine Jewels so its not just said he believes it for himself.. amen amen.. Gods name is Very Important to him and us amen.. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.This verse is heavy !! The shadow of death.. I mean Listen you cant get any closer to something than the shadow of it. The catch is the shadow is the exact duplicate of death except for deaths finality.. So to live through it is,like no other experience we can ever have accept death itself amen.. But It says I will fear no evil for thou art with me. GLORY to GOD. There is a closeness here that we must embrace,a trust not just mentioned but of development over time.. This is time spent together it is the only way to develop this type of closeness.Praise GOD..It must be a day in and day out type of relationship. As a GOOD Shepherd it goes on to say; thy Rod AND thy Staff they comfort me. THIS IS for another time,if you follow me, (people always quote the staff as a means of severe punishment or the same as a smack or use of our hands correct) Here it is used as a source of comfort..It Plainly says Thy Rod and staff they comfort me. Now the ROD and staff was a long cane like tool for the Shepherd Used to often times pull sheep from dangerous areas and cliffs..It is so important that we teach here , that we first show them where they went wrong and then show them the right way .. This is a rod of correction. 5. Thou Preparest a table for me in the midst of mine Enemy. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runs over. This a verse that should knock us off your feet.. It says that while I am in my life and all that is going on in it..That God will keep me comfortable. That is exactly what it says, ALSO, It says thou anointest my head with oil.. The Shepherd would keep a vial of oil always ,and he used it as a source of comfort for the sheep. This is speaking directly about the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is always sufficient in fact it is more than we will ever need,if we learn to trust in him amen.. The word says my cup Runneth over amen. This is a continual process .. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.Praise God for his Goodness, if it is this GOOD why would we ever want to leave him amen Listen why would we ever leave our GOD?!! If we stick with GOD it says surely no doubt about it.. Goodness and Mercy will follow me all of my days.. I will be cared for day after day in like manner to what I have become accustomed to amen Glory TO God ... Dwell in his house..Psalms 23:1-6 {kjv} Pastord Major Change Foundation Inc.
