PTA Clears for continual of SMS and Voice Packages, and end of Chat Rooms Yesterday was a very shocking day for all of the mobile networks in Pakistan as they got a Directive from PTA to stop offering the all Voice and SMS bundles. But now after clarification, it is just a mis-understanding between the PTA and Mobile Networks. After prior confirmation, it is now cleared that only Voice and SMS Chat Rooms to are asked for blockage not the mobile SMS and Voice bundles, and they required no need to blockage or alteration. This is indeed a big big sigh of relief for mobile networks and for Users of these services who have become addictive of these services. The letter by PTA which was indicating in clear words that, “Packages Offered by CMTOs Contrary to Moral Values of the Society” and now the PTA has asked for the Chat Rooms they offered to be blocked. The word is used as chat packages instead Chat Rooms which lay the foundation of confusion all around the Telcom stakeholders of Pakistan. PTA will release another directive later on and the official of mobile companies has confirmed that the PTA talked with them verbally on this confusion. The official of a mobile company said that PTA must had used the term “Chat Rooms” instead of “Chat Packages” as this is how telecom advertise the offering. The other mis- understanding is that mobile companies are offering the Chat Rooms only without any subsidized package.
