PTBO just got lumped into Environment Canadas Weather Statement A cold front continues to usher in an Arctic airmass over Southern Ontario this evening. A band of showers and wet flurries along the front is expected to change to flurries as brisk northwesterly winds cause temperatures to fall rapidly behind the cold front. This will likely result in some trace amounts of snow, reductions to visibility with the passage of the front and slippery road conditions tonight and Tuesday morning. Behind the front, the cold northwesterly flow over the relatively warm waters of the Great Lakes will result in the formation of snow squalls southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Snow squall watches and warnings are in effect for areas forecast to receive local snowfall amounts of 10 cm or more by Tuesday morning. Motorists should expect winter driving conditions across much of Southern Ontario with freezing temperatures persisting through Wednesday morning. Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at weatheroffice.gc.ca.
