PTI Punjab President Ejaz ch severely condemned the increase in Price of 20kb wheat bag in Gilgit Baldistan and said that government has taken back subsidy on wheat in Gilgit Baldistan because of that the price of 20kg wheat bag has increased from Rs.850 to Rs. 1470. He said that by doing this poor people of Gilgit Baldistan are not even able to have one decent meal a day. He said that this issue is about Hunger and Health of the poor people of Pakistan it is not about the wheat. He said that PTI Punjab will stand with Awami Election Committee Gilgit Baldistan in this issue and will raise their voice against this injustice in media. He demanded that the in this killing inflation the government should take back their decision and give subsidy back so that poor people get wheat bag on the old price. PTI President Ejaz Ahmed Ch also talking about a survey done on a wheat production in Punjab said that the it was alarming at how in many cities including Gujranwala the wheat producing agri area had been converted into housing societies by the PML-N government in the last one year. He said that in Gujranwala211,000 acres of farm land growing wheat had been converted into housing societies during the last year which was used to be producing 30.1 metric tons of wheat. He said that this exposed that the Gujranwala MNA Khuram Dastageer Khan who was also minister of trade was actually destroying agricultural trade by not only building housing societies over there but creating a shortage of wheat and thus raising its price for a common man. He said that with the killing inflation in the country the shortage of wheat will make the price of one roti even more expensive making it impossible for people to have a decent meal in a day. He said that the Chief Minister’s destructive plan for redrawing the LDA limits and extending them to other cities areas as well was entirely because they wanted to invest more and more into acres of land and build housing societies which they can sell on premium prices. He demanded from the Chief Minister to immediately instruct MNA Khuram Dastageer Khan to stop this destruction of agri land. PTI Gen Sec Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that Gujranwala was a main hub of both trade and agricultural activities and had turned into a gangster city due to the PML-N MNA’s forceful behavior towards anybody who disobeys them. She said that Khurram Dastageer Khan has victimized his opponent candidate of PTI S.A Hameed by threatening and opening fire at his house because he wanted Mr. S.A Hameed to remove his self from the board of Jinnah welfare trust hospital so that MNA Khuram Dastageer Khan can keep his own people on the board. She said that these tactics shows the real mentality of the ruling government and the Chief Minister must take notice of it. PTI Sec Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said that the PML-N government’s one year governance was highlighted by the land mafia mentality where the famous case of garment city was exposed and has been taken to the court and now the wheat production scandal is also out to show there greed for acquiring thousands of acres of public property for their private use. She said that the Khuram Dastageer Khan wanted that by giving India a free access to Pakistani market and without getting reciprocal aces to Indian market he would destroy the competitiveness of traders in Pakistan she said that PTI demanded that an immediate enquiry into this wheat producing areas conversions be made by the Punjab government or PTI will this case to the assembly or to the court if required.
