PTO Meeting Minutes January 20, 2015 Meeting called to order 6:35 pm Attendance: 7 Secretary Minutes approved Treasury Report- $1553 check received from Box Tops, Pam Majewski possibly organizing Box Tops snowball fight in February. Old Business Secret Santa- Raquel Rasmussen coordinator. Kids Kastle company did not work as we would have liked, looked into suggestions for next year alternatives. Decided we will be taking donations for next year of gently used items, no clothing or stuffed animals unless new with tags, discussed re-approaching Sav-On to reconcile that relationship for next year. Joleen Lorens to write a letter to parents asking for donations. Fall Book Fair went well, set dates for Spring Book Fair, will be February 16-19. Will need Set Up to be Friday February 13 before 2 pm due to class parties going on that day. Mitten Sales raised $191.55 to purchase cold weather gear for students in need. Basket Raffle raised close to $500, no PTO money was spent. Received enough donations to supply 17 baskets. New Business Movie Night- Voted to postpone any further movie nights until new school year. Current license expired January 23, 2015, voted not to renew license until September. Conference Dinner- Chili Cook Off. PTO will provide salad and garlic bread, PTO will also provide a prize for the winning pot of chili, discussed gift card to Econo or GFS. Teachers and staff to vote on best chili. Sign up for bringing in a pot of chili will be due February 5th. Meeting Minutes and upcoming PTO events will be posted on the bulletin board outside the staff lounge. Pizza Kit Fundraiser will be delivered in the beginning of March, order forms will be going out mid February. Ed Deveau will coordinate. Spring Fling- Approved, set date for March 28th from 2-4. Requesting donations of items from parents, K-1st grade, plastic eggs. 2nd-3rd grade, small toys or prizes. 4th-5th grade, candy. Donations will be due February 5th. Joleen Lorens will compose a letter requesting donations. Will be discussing budget at next PTO meeting pending donations received. Michelle Denis will coordinate this event. Principal Report Received a check for $2287.11 from the magazine fundraiser that was done in the fall. 3 New board members were elected to the school board. Currently have 535 students enrolled, 35 less than last school year. Principal requires advance notice about events. Next Meeting Scheduled for February 10th at 6:30 pm Executive Board will meet at 6:00 pm to discuss budget and bylaws. Meeting adjourned 7:50 pm
