PUBLIC APOLOGY I am publicly apologizing to every Haitian National for saying that parts of Haiti has severe poverty. I am truly sorry for misleading the public into believing that children born here and who grew up here all their lives and who are Constitutionally eligible to apply for Bahamian Citizenship would not have a better life by returning to Haiti and living in the conditions their parents came from. I was misled by all the reports over the years about the severe poverty in Haiti and actually thought they were true. I have now come to understand by many persons on Facebook that my position is so far off base that my comments are beyond stupid. So once again, I am sorry for believing that parts of Haiti has severe poverty. I also want to thank the many Facebook users who corrected what I thought to be true. Thank you for making me understand that parts of Haiti does not have severe poverty and my position that the children who the law allowed to grow up here would be exposed to those severe poverty conditions that I thought to have existed in Haiti.
