PUBLIC COMMENTARY Period Open on a Navajo Nation Council resolution 0091-14 that will render NULL & VOID the December 2013 RDC action acknowledging a right of way and surface use by Uranium Resources Inc. for ISL mining in Churchrock. RDC cannot pass a resolution that violates existing Navajo policy, without a waiver. RDC did not have a waiver to override the DNRPA (uranium moratorium) or the RMTA (Radioactive Materials Transportation Act) when they passed Leg. 0373-13, aka: RDCD-69-13. Theres also an agreement between Navajo Nation (signed by DOJ) and HRI (now called URI) that says the company must complete cleanup of Section 17 before they can do any mining on Section 8. There has been plenty of opposition to this. Ill post some talking points later. Basically, we need folks to send comments REQUESTING COUNCIL DELEGATES TO VOTE YES TO LEG. 0091-14 (Yazzie).
