PUBLIC GRIEVANCE LETTER SENT BY E MAIL ON 26TH August 2014 to Office of Chief Minister To, Office of the Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, Vidan Souda Bangalore-01. Sub: Request for Cancellation of Corporation Status of Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Respected Sir, I am a resident citizen of Hubli Residing In Vidyanagar Here with I request the Government of Karnataka to kindly look in to the affairs of the so called municipal corporation of Hubli and Dharwad city which have been deteriorated to very substandard unfit level because of poor administration and city is not at all fit for calling it as second largest city all the municipal services provided by the city corporation are very substandard and reached ground zero and public body is wasting lakhs of tax payers money on ISO certification since last 8 years and government is keeping quite on the issue of expenditure.Corporation has lost faith of people paying taxes and there is no visionary for the city and basic services are in collapsed state and people are suffering for basic civic amenities. The HDMC Hubli has lost all its credibility to be called as city corporation as per our observation as citizens and as per the news reports appear in the media .People are ashamed to be called living under such stinking and bad civic services offered by HDMC. HDMC is collecting huge taxes from the people living and services are at zero level and government is unnecessarily burdening people of taxes by giving this substandard city in to status of corporation and people are being heavily taxed for being residents of city corporation which I feel is very unscientific and request the state government to appoint the special committee to look in to the matters of administration call upon public opinion to withdraw status of Municipal corporation and reduce unnecessary burden on government and people of taxes. All the services are so much deteriorated people are very much disturbed due to bad roads, stinking dust bins and uncleared garbage in the city .None of the civic services are meeting any standards. There is total collapse of the system of administration in each and every part of administration and people are being made suffer for the mistake made by government to upgrade it to city corporation status and made huge unwanted tax collection and burdening the poor people of this twin city. So I kindly request the Government of Karnataka to look in to the matter and kindly withdraw the status of city corporation issued to Hubli Dharwad and kindly look in the poor administration of the Hubli Dharwad by sending the special officer for the purpose. Kindly audit the funds utilized for development works being misused for the purpose other than sanctioned for the public use.Government should monitor the HDMC activities through urban development department and kindly cancel the city corporation status offered earlier by mistake. General public are very much disturbed by the present situation in the city condition due to badly operated civic services and Very bad management of the city administration. I request Government of Karnataka Through this Public Grievance Application to appoint the committee to look in the affairs of administration in HDMC and deteriorating services and huge official expenditures by tax payers money by offering substandard services. So I look forward for your action in this regard on withdrawal of city corporation status to HDMC and kindly help people in this regard and reduce burden of taxes.
