History has taught us that whilst our governments sit in silence and collude with settler states like Zionist Israel - ordinary people like you can make a difference through the BDS movement. It was through the resistance movement in South Africa and sanctions which eventually brought down Apartheid. We can achieve this for Palestine. In Birmingham, West Midlands Palestine Solidarity Campaign has been co-ordinating the BDS campaign locally. We are launching Birmingham’s Pledge for Palestine and calling on all Birmingham Councillors to sign the pledge to show their support for the boycott of Israel in general, and Israeli West Bank goods in particular, and of companies involved in supporting the occupation. We need our councillors to reflect our views and commit to supporting the BDS movement. This public meeting will launch Birmingham’s Pledge for Palestine and Councillors will be invited to sign it. Please join us and s build the BDS movement in Birmingham, learn the lessons from the South African experience and how other local authorities are supporting the BDS movement.
