PUBLIC NOTICE: JULY 31, 2014 The Global Center for Advanced - TopicsExpress

PUBLIC NOTICE: JULY 31, 2014 The Global Center for Advanced Studies (Michigan), also known as “GCAS” and co-founded by Jason Adams and Creston Davis in Grand Rapids in November 2013, is presently inoperable. The Center’s license with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) which allowed it to operate as a Licensed Proprietary School (LPS) from November 2013 through July 2014, expires on August 1, 2014. The surety bond which allowed GCAS-Michigan to operate during this period has been withdrawn as well. Rather than continue in that form at present, we have opted instead to create a new, non-profit higher education institute known as The New Centre for Research & Practice (NCRP). Rather than presenting itself as an alternative to the existing academic system that would eventually grant degrees in a competitive manner, NCRP will instead work alongside, within and between existing higher education institutions worldwide to provide opportunities for research, learning, teaching and engagement for scholars and students whose needs and interests might not yet be addressed. The creation of a new corporate entity by Davis in Colorado bears no relationship other than a similarity in name to the now-inoperable GCAS-Michigan. NCRP will continue to address the needs of former GCAS-Michigan students and the academic community that was formed around it. We would like to wish Davis the best of luck as he begins his new endeavor in Colorado.
