PUBLIC SERVIC ANNOUNCEMENT Coffeyville Community College is sponsoring a cleaning supply drive in benefit of the Safehouse Crisis Center for the home opener on August 24th. The CCC football team will take the field at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium to face the Hutchinson Blue Dragons. But off the field, the CCC football team is hoping to build awareness of the good work of the Safehouse Crisis Center and collect cleaning supplies in support of their organization. The Safehouse served over 780 victims last year from July 2012-June 2013. They provide shelter for victims escaping abusive situations as well as peer counseling, hotline call service, support groups, court advocacy and facilitate visitations and exchanges for children. During the last year, they sheltered 257 women and children and had 678 people involved in their support groups. "We recognize the tremendous services that the Safehouse Crisis Center provides to our community and we want to be supportive of their mission," said Head Football Coach Aaron Flores. "It is a small token of our appreciation for all they do by gathering these items for them." Safehouse Crisis Center serves 11 counties with offices in Pittsburg and Coffeyville. They are a private non-profit 501(c)3. Their services are offered free of charge and are confidential. CCC and Safehouse Crisis Center would greatly appreciate your donation of cleaning supplies at this home football game. Items to donate include laundry soap, all-purpose cleaners, paper towels, pledge, towels and other like items.
