PULWAMA, JUNE 18: District Magistrate, Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Lone, accompanied by the Regional Director J&K Pollution Control Board and officers of Police Administration inspected various Cement Manufacturing Units in Wuyan area of Tehsil Pampore today. The District Magistrate exhorted for strictly adhering to pollution control norms and took serious note of the non adherence of pollution control norms by some of the cement manufacturing plants. As many as 15 days time was given to J&K Cement Manufacturing Limited Khrew to install necessary pollution control equipment’s failing which the unit shall be sealed. At the same time Dawar Cement Manufacturing Plant Khrew was sealed causing the public nuisance. District Magistrate instructed all the officers of Police and Revenue Administration to conduct regular inspections of these Units so that the compliance to pollution control norms is ensured.
