PUP-DATE: Dear See Spot Rescued, it’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I adopted Red (FKA Redd Foxx). It’s even harder to imagine life without him now. In the past year I’ve learned that if I am lying down, I am a dog pillow, if I am not wearing my slippers, then they are also dog pillows. I have lost all claim on my papasan chair, which is now Property of Red. It is a losing battle to try to protect that papasan from dog hair with a sheet or blanket. If I get up at night to go to the bathroom, there is a 100% chance my spot will be taken when I get back. There’s no better way to start each morning than a walk in the woods with your best friend. Red is gentle and patient with my young niece and nephew, who adore him. He took some time to figure out his toys, but now he loves them. Once or twice a week Red has a wrestling date with his friend Holly. And many mornings we run into Gracie (a fellow SSR alum!) on our morning walk--always good for a moment of tussling while we humans try to keep the leashes untangled. And finally: I noticed I had a photo of Red from a similar angle as one of his adoption pictures. The adoption photo on the left is from around November 2013, and the one on the right is from April 2014. What a difference! You guys are doing incredible work. THANK YOU! Kara
