PURE RELIGION James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. A true believer does not only pray for the needy, but offers help to them. He does not only release Gods blessings in word, but in action too. Reading and hearing Gods word is not enough. We need to obey God and live a pure life in the midst of crooked generation (Philippians 2:15). We need to show in action the love of God in our hearts (I John 3:18). Dont be fool. True religion is not buttressed by church membership, for becoming a member of church is not promoted by the Lord Jesus Christ. True religion according to Him is showing mercy and living in purity (Matthew 5:7-8). Let our true faith in God move. Let our true profession of faith agree with our action. Regardless of our religious background, we should extend help to the needy. Let the compassion of Jesus be our compassion (Matthew 9:36). Let us find a way to help those in need. Praying for them is not enough. Do you have a pure religion? Dont just be content in thanking the nations that extend help for the victims in Visayas. Dont just post those pictures about people who showed help to the needy. We must also extend our hands and share our blessings to the people in need.
