PURPOSE -- WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHY ARE THEY Thumbing It? (A loving challenge from us - Bears & Samahria - to you!) Were having the best time thumbing it through the streets of the city. Are we hitching rides from strangers on motor-cycles? Are we using our thumbs as tasters in Japanese and Italian restaurants? Do we mix our mocha lattes with those great appendages? Or, are we just, bottom-line, sucking our thumbs? Can you make out what we are actually doing with our thumbs and what is behind us and what surrounds us? Look carefully...we artfully composed this photograph just for all of you. Why? To express our delight in living and in helping others. To create a visual tapestry that has many layers like the layering of each of our lives (the density of this image as it occurred is a visual delight). And to create a fun enigma (much of our experiences are enigmatic). Where have you pointed your fingers lately? Behind you? In front of you? At others? Toward yourself? And are you thumbing it through the streets of your city or town or village? Are you doing your thumbing it with purpose -- on purpose, leaving the imprint of your purpose everywhere? Will anyone know you came this way? Who will care? Who are you and what is your purpose” is a key existential question we all want to answer for ourselves. Before you begin to consider such a question, first notice where you are pointing that cute finger (whether an index finger or thumb) and direct it (or redirect it) mindfully right at yourself and ask (and answer)....hey there, who the heck am I and what is my purpose in this life?
