PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE Mad men littering our streets, bad men leading our cities! The rich having his way, while the poor earn the right for what to say. The rotation of the earth affects more than the physical geography as explained; the fabrics of our moral aptitude, cultural dignity and religious inclinations are revolving around the axis of fashions and trends. What we used to castigate under the light of ideals and values, now pass for acceptance under the disguise of modernization. We’re truly modern, but the cost involves the murder of our soul dignity and spiritual agitation to contribute our quota in improving the cause of humanity, advancing godly traits and affirming significant characters. If we would get back to the path of honour, our efforts must move beyond the self-awareness occupation we engage in our minds. We must discover who we really are. Research on reasoning and invaluable contribution to humanity would only be sustained if it begins with digging out the eccentric values that constitute our core beings. Those traits we share in resemblance with God. Fulfilment involves decision, but that’s secondary. The primary root of fulfilment is discovery. A man cannot be fulfilled deciding what to live for, but discovering what to die for. That’s not the last chapter though. Development of our capacities would enhance maximum use of our gifts and endowments. Our societies are wrapped with dilapidated social, ethical and physical infrastructures, largely due to the fact that we neglect the main infrastructure that should attract more capital investment; the mind! A street urchin derives pleasure in shattering valuables and amenities because his mind is drained of value! Even to the point of taking away lives in cold blood! Significance is the consequence of wholesomely developing humanity. The impact of a significant man is trans-generational. His legacies are incontrovertible. You may beef his lifestyle, his methods, but you cannot clean off the track he charted in destiny. The standard of a significant life is beyond the bars of fears and intimidations. He breaks the lids and makes the deals excellently. His heart gets younger by the day as he ages. Because truly, being young has little to do with age but the stage of your maturity per time. Success is inevitable for a significant man. You cannot take it from him to be appreciated, at least, by providence. Those are people who added to life more than they took out of it. They die empty and emptied. Whatever they carried into the sphere of life and living was poured until the last drop! The definition of success maybe humanly relative, but compared with the divine purpose for each life, defining efficiency as a ratio between input of intent and maximum output of performance, no argument can ensue on the timeless, universal marking scheme for grading a successful life. We must raise the banner of deliberate and intentional living. Success is never a game or gamble. It is a dynamic, calculated and inspired effort to always improve in every facet of life and to pass on the same to others. After all, the least a man can achieve in life is what he gets for himself. Our anchor must be well rooted and deeply founded on the truth of discovery. We must say no to mediocrity, the bane of intellectual capacity, we must rise against compromise wagging war against the convictions of our purpose driven life. Others may give in; we must resolve to stand out! Shining as lights in our territories of influence, no one around us must be in question, what our priorities in life are. Our convictions must be challenging and our stands, firm. With consistent and continued effort en route the Promised Land, sparing no cost for purpose and holding back nothing as we’ve been given, let us be aware, with a resounding voice of courage that it’s possible!
