PUT ON YOUR ROYAL ROBES: WHEN Mordecai learned all that Haman had - TopicsExpress

PUT ON YOUR ROYAL ROBES: WHEN Mordecai learned all that Haman had planned to annihilate the Jews, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and ashes and went out into the midst of the city crying bitterly with a loud voice (Esther 4:1). The Bible records in verse 2, that he went AS FAR AS the front of the kings gate, for NO ONE might enter the kings gate clothed with sackcloth. Many others joined him in weeping and wailing at the news of their impending destruction by the hands of Haman. Esther was ALSO deeply distressed by the news. However, instead of putting on sackcloth and ashes, Esther put on her ROYAL ROBES and stood in the inner court of the kings palace. She knew that NO ONE was going to get noticed by the king in sackcloth and ashes. You see, Esther tried to get Mordecai to stop the bawling, weeping, wailing, and mourning. It says, Then she sent garments to clothe Mordecai and TAKE his sackcloth AWAY from him, BUT HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT THEM (4:2). Sounds familiar? Yeah, God has given us robes of righteousness, garments of praise, garments of splendor (Isaiah 52:1), but we WOULD NOT ACCEPT THEM. Because, like Mordecai, when we put on sackcloth and ashes, we get the attention and sympathy of MANY others: Many others joined Mordecai and lay in sackcloth and ashes (4:2). MISERY loves company! The time is NOW . . . take off those garments of death, sickness, misery, mourning, complaining, and put on your ROYAL ROBES. Step into the ROYALTY that you are as a partaker of His Royal Priesthood. The weeping and wailing aint cutting it! Lives are waiting! -- ApAML #destinycalls #royalty #nodrawingback
