PWC Collecting For Hospitalized Women Veterans The women of the GFWC Peninsula Women’s Club (PWC) of Bayonne will be collecting items for women veterans at their regular November meeting, Wednesday November 19 at 7pm in the 56th Street Senior Center. The items, such as, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair products, tissues, socks, lightly scented toiletries, feminine products, note paper, boxed greeting cards, pens, etc., will be donated to female veteran’s hospitalized at the NJ VA Hospitals. Members will also be writing holiday cards for the veteran’s. The PWC, a group of local women committed to community service, is open to all women. Women are encouraged to attend a meeting to see just what they are all about. They strive to bring women together for the promotion of civic and philanthropic activities to better the community and to create interest in education, fine arts and topics of public interest through cooperative relationships. The GFWC Peninsula Woman’s Club of Bayonne is a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) of GFWC, which was founded in 1894 and has been headquartered on the Douglass Residential Campus, formerly Douglass College in New Brunswick since 1966. The Federation is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), the oldest and largest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s volunteer service organization in the world.
