PWYCW: Pay What You Can Wednesdays - PWYCW Start Date June 2014 PWYCW is a new nationwide health care initiative where Medical Doctors and all other heath professionals open their practice to persons who could not or would not otherwise benefit from their assistance. All health professionals in the USA are invited to join this initiative. Please e-mail dr dave ores to sign up as a volunteer / MD provider. drdave.lesm@gmail You can see one patient, three or more? on Wednesdays as part of this initiative. It is up to you the physician. These are by appointment only and, of course, what is offered as part of the PWYCW initiative is decided by the provider. Maybe not every Wednesday in your particular case? Maybe one Wednesday per month? or perhaps there may be a cancellation or an unexpected opening in your appointment schedule. Why PWYCW? Its a kind thing to do and most of us Doctors can afford to be generous with our knowledge, special skills and abilities. Even for a few minutes. Many health workers across America often offer free services and few people see or hear about these helpful events. PWYCW raises the professional good standing of all of us, as a group, in the public eye. PWYCW builds good will for you and your practice in your local community. Even a few minutes of your professional time may diagnose HTN?, a suspicious skin lesion? Possible depression? Or even a lump or mass or a family history that warrants additional attention. Once discovered, these people could be recommended to seek definitive medical care thru whatever local care program is avaiialble. Many patients only really want to know if their particular concern deserves or needs actual medical attention or not. Even that basic simple (to us) determination is vital to them and only takes us a few minutes (in most cases) to evaluate. The PWYCW initiative is not for definitive care or chronic care. The PWYCW initiative creates a simple, direct effective access point for people to get into the proper care path they may need. Talk with them for a few minutes, take a look at what their question or concern is and help them as best you can. In some cases, treatment and care can be provided. Thats all it takes. The PWYCW initiative is all of us doing something practical and directly useful other than complaining about the USA not having a single national comprehensive care system. PWYCW is about all of us being able to help all of them. The PWYCW initiative is somewhat in the vein of Take Your Daughter to Work Day. People who wish to see a local health professional thru PWYCW initiative can contact one of the health care workers on the PWYCW list of volunteer professionals. Its pay whatever you can afford on Wednesdays as appointments are available. What the professional offers (or doesnt offer) is up to them and PWYCW is designed for people to have an initial consultation and possibly treatment. It all depends on what the problem is and what the Doctor is able or willng to offer as part of PWYCW. Current PWYCW professional volunteers: 1. David J. Ores, MD (General Practitioner) NYC email : drdave.lesm@gmail TEL 917 723 4206 2. Beth Caunitz, DDS (dentist) NYC Website: bethcaunitzdds Dr. Beth Caunitz 30 E 40th Street Suite 406 New York, NY 10016 Phone: 212-206-9002 dentist@bethcaunitzdds ========== Health Care Professionals: Please ask others to sign up and help others become aware of this low tech, directly helpful health initiative. Join in. Be part of the solution. All of us can help all of them. Thank you. dr ores
