Pachpadra refinery to have water treatment plant from construction stages TNN Sep 5, 2013, 02.16AM IST JAIPUR: The refinery and petrochemical complex set to come up at Pachpadra will have facilites to meet the drinking water requirement channeled from the Indira Gandhi canal and to treat waste water right from the construction phase. In a meeting held on Wednesday, the public health engineering department (PHED) and the urban improvement trust (UIT) gave their final consent on the arrangement. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), the major stake holder in the project, will set up a water treatment plant. It will use the available waste and saline water in Balotra area which officials claim is about 23 million liter per day (MLD). "The arrangement will ensure that the required water is available to the company during the construction phase. The company has expressed the need of 18-19 MLD water during this period, while the availability is of around 23 MLD," a PHED official said.
