Pacific fishermen, scientists and government-appointed - TopicsExpress

Pacific fishermen, scientists and government-appointed conservation officials met on Tuesday with Special Counselor to the President John Podesta . His duties include overseeing climate change and energy policy. They met to discuss making a vast region of the 200-mile exclusive economic zone around a speckling of U.S. Pacific territorial islands out of reach of its own fishing fleets. This would severely cut into the $100 million Hawaiian-based fishing and processing industry; and adversely affect future U.S. fishing treaty negotiations. Another learned lawyer making decisions well beyond his pay grade and skill set...Reminds me of the over reach the Federal Government has over the Gulf fisheries.... And Climate Change....Really....SMH !!!!
