Page rules and posting etiquette With time comes growth, and with growth comes a lot of new faces. Since the inception of this page, we have tried to set a standard to make the page more enjoyable for the followers. Sometimes it gets hard to keep up, especially the past two weeks here. Last week, the post reach exceeded 300,000 and its been quite a task trying to monitor everything. We ask a few simple things when posting here. 1: Do not use offensive language. Someone always finds a way to use a -, $ or another character on the keyboard to try to work around it. If we dont want our church going grandmother to see it, we dont want it posted here. Some people even start complaining about freedom of speech when it comes to issues like this. First of all, if we wanted it here, we would have named the page F-Independence or something like that. Thats not what this page is about. If you want to build a community website/social media audience for that purpose, by all means please start your own page. 2: Please support and respect our local community. References such as Methdepence, typical Indy for ya etc really isnt welcome here. My first question to you would be, what are you doing to make this town a better place instead of bashing it? Are you involved with COMBAT? Have you done a ride along with the police department? We would rather see people put an effort towards trying to better the community by alerting issues and concerns through the proper channels, or maybe even becoming a volunteer for a cause that you have an issue with vs posting the offensive and inappropriate comments. 3: Memes These are sometimes cute, but they tend to get out of hand and easily steer things off topic. They are also easily used to defeat language filters that are in place. If they are clean and on topic, they are allowed. 4: Respect the other posters here. If you have an issue or you want to have a debate with someone else that is posting, send them a private message vs disrupting a post that people are commenting on. All in all, we want this to be a family oriented community page that people enjoy visiting. We always welcome feedback and you are always welcome to send a message to the page. Thanks for reading this rant.
