Paid Student Internship We are looking to hire a 20 hour per week intern to assist with research and administrative support for our CEO and policy work groups. These policy groups are focused on formulating legislative and non-legislative policy recommendations. We work extensively with both state and county governments on property insurance issues. We also have a new policy council focused on health care issues, including the effects of the Affordable Healthcare Act on Florida. Our property policy work groups include: 1) Non-catastrophic claims issues (Assignments of Benefits, Appraisal, Post-claim Underwriting), 2) Wind mitigation, 3) Citizens Property Insurance Depopulation, and 4) Consumer Protections (developing a statutory Policyholder Bill of Rights). In addition to working with government, we also work closely with other stakeholder groups such as industry, medical providers, real estate and insurance agents, and other consumer groups. Our model is based on inclusive decision making. We believe that long-term stable public policy can only result from including all stakeholders in the decision making processes. The student intern does not need insurance knowledge or experience.
