Paint your home for free Notts residents who are thinking about a spot of decorating are being offered the chance to paint their homes for free thanks to the Nottinghamshire Community RePaint scheme, which is being run at four Recycling Centres across Notts. Veolia Environmental Services (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste contractors) run the Community RePaint scheme at Worksop, Newark, Beeston and Calverton Recycling Centres. The scheme provides local community and voluntary groups with free paint donated by the public. Residents are donating more paint than ever so the service is expanding to help more Nottinghamshire residents offset the costs of decorating their homes, by picking up paint for free! In 2013 13,500 litres of reusable paint went out to residents, community groups and charities. Kevin Parker Regional Communications Manager at Veolia Environmental Services says “We want to increase the amount of reusable paint distributed in 2014. If you’ve never given Community RePaint a go, book a time slot and come down for some paint for yourself and help brighten up even more Nottinghamshire homes!” Residents who would like to pick up some free paint need to call Nottinghamshire County Council on 0300 500 80 80 to book a time slot. Booking is essential. You then simply turn up during your allocated time to pick up your paint. Tins of paint are restricted to Nottinghamshire residents only.
