Pajamas for a cause For the second year, the entire third grade at Jaworek Elementary participated in the Scholastic’s “The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive” to help make winter warmer for families in need. Since Thanksgiving, the students have been bringing in new pajamas to distribute with books to children ages birth through 17. The Pajama Project coordinates the PJ donations, and Scholastic donates a book for every pajama donated. This year’s third-grade class collected a whopping 145 sets of pajamas! They also participated a correlating math activity that is posted on the third-grade hallway bulletin board. On Dec. 12, the students had a real pajama party to celebrate, and students and teachers spent the school day in their winter jammies as visual reminder of how a small group of people can make a big difference.
