Pakhtoons Poltics of Peeri and Moreedi by Engr.Shahimulk khattak This is the most unfortunate that a democratic norms in the Pakhtoon society is being replaced by a kind of cult, that Peeri and Moreedi. The ruler assumes the charge of Peer and the worker as Moreed. I see many criticizing Qadri, Shah Mahmood Qureishi and the Late Pagara for using Peeri for their vested interest, but I see here every one as Peer. The worst impact of this norm is on the democratic structure of the society. Most surprisingly, since Pakhtoon politics have become a dynastic in nature, it equally converted into Peer and Moreed kind of relationship which is detrimental to Pakhtoon progressive nationalism. Shahimulk Khattak confesses, that Mystic khattak hurt hundreds for the very reason of pointing out their mistakes and requesting them not to cash Pakhtoon nationalism and Religion in Pakhtoon land. Many friends of mine, requested me in personal not to talk about these people. Since everyone has attachment with one or other leader, and has become zealot in following them unquestionably.... What i feel,I pen down. But this attitude brings lots of hatred for me, and also hurt my very close friends. I find them equally OK in their stance, they do all efforts to justify their Heroes. They are of the view that Shahimulk khattak follows some other leaders than the Pakhtoon. I have, since i have no other option, also choose bad among the worst and have to follow one or the others. But i am not in favor of Peeri and Moreidi Cult in politics, and no leader be above fair criticism, and the issue of dynastic cum Ethno nationalistic politics really paralyze the sense of many intellectuals. It is the right of every individual to follow one or the other leaders, and it is also ones right to put him in fair lines and held them accountable. Today, we find all workers as Moreed of Leaders, follow them blindly and say Acknowledge to his every right and wrong. Every Moreed is in Race to defend his Peer at any cost. If someone raises figure on Peer, no matter right or wrong, the Moreed will kill that individual. These blank cheques to Peers have really distorted us in every walk of life. Even today, a very sensible people try to avoid fairly criticizing someone.
