Pakistan: Mangoes dispatched for new market, Australia An export consignment comprising of 600 kilograms of mangoes was dispatched last Wednesday for Karachi, for onward destination, Australia. Abdur Razzaq, general manager of the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company, informed the APP that the department has been engaged in hectic efforts to export mangoes to Australia during last four years. He explained that Australian importers had some reservations earlier, but the department addressed those professionally. "The mangoes underwent hot water treatment in Shujaabad, 44 kilometres from Multan city, and were dispatched in line with the high health standards," he said. Abdur Razzaq added that efforts were also being made to start export of mangoes and vegetables to South Korea, Lebanon and Mauritius.
