Pakistani artists workshop opens in Beijing BEIJING, Aug 24 (APP): An exhibition of Photography and calligraphy works from visiting Pakistani artists was inaugurated here on Friday. The Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khalid while lauding the work of these artists said that you are the Pakistanis that truly representing their country in China through their work. He pointed out that holding of such activities as “Pakistani Artists Workshop in China”, help bringing people of the two countries more closer as well as further cement our bond of friendship. The Ambassador also proposed holding of such activities on reciprocal basis. “Pakistani’s arts scene is very dynamic and rich culture of 5000 years” remarked Masood Khalid. He said that these artists have truly depicted through their work the rich culture of Pakistan. Ambassador Masood on the occasion also appreciated the Chinese Ministry of Culture for organizing the exhibition. He pointed out that their art work carried out along with Chinese peers not only impressive but also illustrated humility and kindness. Pakistan and China are close friends; he said adding that we are “Iron Brothers”. These artists are true representatives of Pakistan’s art and culture, he noted. Speaking on the occasion, the Joint Secretary Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Mashhood Ahmed Mirza said that the Information Minister Senator Pervez Rashid took keen interests in sending five Pakistani artists to China to highlight Pakistani’s rich culture there. The group of five Pakistani painters namely Akram Dost Baluch, Masood A. Khan, Aqeel Solangi, Zaira Ahmad Zaka and Mobeen Salman Ansari was taken to different historic places around Beijing including Great Wall besides as well as Inner Mongolia, on their return they engaged in paintings and photography at Jin Hua Arts School, in Beijing along with Chinese painters. The painting workshop that was largely attended by art lovers will conclude on August 26. The ceremony was also addressed by Cultural Counsellor, Chinese Ministry of Culture Gao Hua and Vice General Manager of China International Exhibition Agency Huang.
