Palengke. Every time I go to this International Market aside from getting myself thrilled with so many rare food finds (from mangoosteen, pampano fish to Halal meat and belgian chocolates to boy bawang chicacorn, dried tuyo, frozen japanese mochi to Mediterranean pita bread), I see people from diverse cultures flaunting their smiles and giggles when they find what they are looking for. An old Asian couple was in high spirits today when I chance to see them getting loads of sweet big mangoes into their cart. In this place, it takes away that angst of homesickness and that longing for familiarity is like having that sense of bliss from HOme. #buhay sa bayang malayo .
