Palo Pinto County Judge David Nicklas reported there was a case of attempted jury scam in the county. The victim receives a call stating he or she failed to respond to a jury summons and an arrest warrant is being issued UNLESS a fine is paid. The caller IS NOT acting on behalf of the county ... its a scam. Do not give any personal information over the phone to any unidentified caller ... what they say and what they are could well be entirely different. Report any attempted scams or suspicious calls to local law enforcement.
