Palouse Pathways Planning for College Night Information - Sept. 25th 7:00 PM Dear Parents, Is college in your child’s future? Would you like to learn more about financial planning and saving for college, finding the right school and making the most of your financial aid application? Then come to a presentation by Carol Wagar, CPA on Sepember 25, 2013 at 7 in the University of Idaho College of Law Room 104. Carol Wagar, CPA, specializes in helping parents meet the financial challenge of paying for college. She has 25 years’ experience in financial planning, eight years specializing in funding for higher education. In addition, she is the mother of two college graduates and one current college student. The evening presentation will include information parents and students need to choose an affordable college that will not jeopardize the family’s financial future. Carol will explain the financial aid system, federal aid eligibility, the FAFSA formula and how parents can increase aid eligibility. Other topics will include student loans, the importance of standardized test scores in increasing merit scholarships and an overview of the college timeline, including tips on how to choose a school that fits your student academically, socially and financially. We won’t cover everything, but we will cover a lot. Carol will also provide information and materials about saving for college that will be of use to families with younger children who want to get an early start on college planning. Carol will provide a lot off information and written materials. There will be a $10 per family charge (collected by Carol at the event) to defray her travel expenses and materials costs. Please tell your friends, and RSVP so we have enough materials and enough space. Please RSVP to peggy@jenkinsresearch, or call 208 882-5857 if you have any questions. Forward this request to others who might be interested. Peggy Jenkins P.S.
