Pamoja kwa Ugatuzi From 5 to 16 October, nine Governors from various Kenyan regions visit Bavaria for an exchange of ideas on the agricultural sector in Germany. Their objective is to identify best practices and implement them in Kenya to increase food security and improve the livelihood of farmers in their counties. Furthermore, the training aims at improving the curricula of agricultural vocational training and education systems in the respective counties. The trip which is organized by German Development Cooperation GIZ will take the Governors among others to the Bavarian Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry. Moreover, the delegation will discuss the opportunities and challenges of agriculture with specialized agencies as well as agronomical companies. Further political talks with the German Ministry of Development and potential German business partners are also planned. In Kenya, German Development Cooperation focuses on support to food security and drought resilience. Therefore, Germany offers technical assistance such as consulting activities on the national and county level. Furthermore, Germany has committed financial support of more than 124 million Euro to Kenya’s agricultural sector in the last four years.
