Panel Nod for Pushkaram Works A cabinet sub-committee has given a green signal to the departments concerned to commence Pushkaram works with their own funds to avoid delay. The sub-committee headed by Minister for Finance and Commercial Taxes Yanamala Ramakrishnudu met in Hyderabad on Friday and took a decision to this effect. The minister assured the departments approval for the funds spent on Pushkaram works. He also underlined the need for a VIP bathing ghat in Rajahmundry. The minister said that the works should be completed by June 2015 to avoid problems. Later, the minister reviewed the proposals of each department and asked the officials concerned to take up only Pushkaram related works. Speaking to Express over phone, endowments minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao said as many as 126 new bathing ghats will come up in twin Godavari districts. Departments such as Transco, Roads and Buildings, Panchayat raj, Rural Water Supply, Revenue, etc., will start their works shortly.
