Pangasinan Regains Title as Best NSM Province Lingayen-- Pangasinan bids for another Hall of Fame Award after reclaiming its title as the regions Best Province for the 2014 National Statistics Month celebration. The award which was conferred to the province during the awarding ceremonies held at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in San Fernando, La Union last October 30, is another feat that the Province of Pangasinan takes pride as being adjudged the best among the other three provinces of La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. As it continues to aim for the best, Pangasinan also takes pride of its home grown talents for dominating the various competitions conducted for the NSM celebration. Pangasinan students made waves in garnering the major awards in the slogan-poster making contest in both tertiary and secondary levels through Jun-Jun C. Lopez of the Pangasinan State University and Krian L. Uson of SanJacinto National High School who both won first place. Mary Ann R. Manaois also of San Jacinto National High School ran away with the grand prize in the oratorical contest and the School of Kingfisher won the jingle making contest. The Benigno Aldana National High School in Pozorrubio was adjudged Best in Essay Writing contest while Alaminos National High School was 1st runner-up in the regional statistical quiz. The winners received cash prizes and certificates of recognition and participation. Pangasinan was elevated to the Hall of Fame for winning as Best NSM province for three consecutive years in 2008 to 2010. 2014 NSM chair Amado I. Espino III who expressed elation of the accomplishment of province is set to hand the award to the provincial winners on November 12. /ADV
