Panthers have been selected as a wild card entry for next seasons Champions League Hockey tournament. This comes as the CHL met up and increased the number of teams taking part from 40 to 44. Belfast being the current Elite League Champions should be in it but they couldnt find the ice time for it so they had to turn down their place and Panthers chose to enter instead. There will be 11 groups of 4 teams and the draw to determine these groups takes place May 21st in Minsk. Only the group winners and 5 teams who were selected as the best 2nd placed team will go through to the final 16. The tournament is set to start August 21st then come to an end February 3rd. Thoughts?
