Papamoa lifeguards had a very busy day with over 60 preventative - TopicsExpress

Papamoa lifeguards had a very busy day with over 60 preventative actions to keep hundreds of swimmers out of danger from the multiple rips across 4kms of beach. Flags were repeatedly moved to accommodate the shifting holes and rips. A great effort by all 19 volunteer guards that ensured that not a single rescue was required..... until after hours (5:35 pm) when two lifeguards (Matt Strange and Briar Merrett) retuned to the beach and rescued two guys from a rip in front of the car park. One placed on oxygen and transported by ambulance to hospital for further observation. Good work Pap!!
