Parachute journalism is a term typically reserved for reporters on short term foreign assignments, dropped into hot zones/hot stories without having any expertise. These days you can apply the same term to Silicon Valley which for those showing up to cover the hot story aka tech is that foreign land. And as such you see people doing a poor job of actually covering the profound changes smartly. It is worse when the sinner is a publication like the Business Week, which should know better.
