Paravan is a caste included in the list of scheduled castes and - TopicsExpress

Paravan is a caste included in the list of scheduled castes and eligible for reservation in Government jobs. This caste of people suffer the untouchability as well as the inferiority in caste system directly or indirectly in service or in society. A few Government servants try to keep abreast among their colleagues or within the society, but they are laughed at or rediculed at convenience. A change in the attitude of society as well as the people of this caste only can pave the way for an equality in the society, for which the Government is trying to an extent. But vote banks, wealthy class, so called upper castes control the welfare of the downtrodden and hence the progress is poor. Kerala Paravan Service Society tries its level best to improve the standards of life our members to a level of equality so that our posterity atleast will lead a life normal in the society. Sri. K.R. Narayanan , former President of India belongs to this caste. Paravan, sometimes written and called “paravar” or “parava” is the same. “n” stands as a singular mentioning the inferiority in the caste system. “r” will give a tinge of respect to the caste as seen in the so called higher caste. However, people of this caste prefer to record with “n” or “paravan” so that there is no confusion in obtaining scheduled caste certificate from the authorities. We should try to impress on the Government to spell “paravar” in the list of scheduled caste. This website is sponsored by Sri. J. Jayachandra Babu (Development officer, LIC) and DR. G Murali, Kilimanoor. Many many thanks to their magnanimity
