Pardon my indulgence into baseball for a moment. As MLB enters its final month of the regular season, my White Sox havent much to play for, except next year and the best (or least-poor) record in Chicago. The Cardinals beat the Cubs and the Sox topped the Tigers yesterday, so the Sox are one game better than the Cubs -- at least for now. Off the field, the Sox traded Adam Dunn and Alejandro De Aza to contenders (Oakland and Baltimore) for young pitching. Its a move most Sox fans welcomed. As for the Cardinals, theyve caught Milwaukee atop the NL Central, but can they stay there? It will be interesting to those of us who are not staring at cars racing around a track or watching guys in shoulder pads and helmets give each other concussions.
