Parental Rights are fundamental, but not absolute. Heres a story of one social services program that seems to be getting it right - and parents who lost their children appropriately have been encouraged and equipped to get them back. Now THAT is what these services should be doing! Listen and learn, Massachusetts. We realize that (a) Texas CPS still has its problems, too, and (b) not everyone who goes through this kind of plan will have this kind of success. But we are glad to be able to share a success story every once in a while. This judge seems to understand that the parental role is worth protecting, even if it means you have to get the parents to clean themselves up first.
