Parental alienation is domestic violence by proxy. It is a form of child abuse performed by a hostile aggressive parent against the other, targeted parent, using their child(ren) as a weapon during a child custody dispute between unwed, separated, divorcing or divorced parents. What is Parental Alienation Syndrome? Parental Alienation Syndrome arises when an alienating parent successfully indoctrinates hatred into a childs mind causing the child to denigrate the targeted parent on his/her own. Having been successfully programmed and or brainwashed into hating the targeted parent, the child reinforces tactics of alienation on their own. The child may incorporate false memories including experiences theyve observed or heard of from others. The alienating parent is held harmless by the child and is completely absolved of any responsibility for the childs ill will towards the targeted parent. Parental alienation is not gender specific and it affects not only the child(ren) and targeted parent but siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and step parents. Children should have a chance to be heard and not suffer in silence.
