Parental or Family Manipulation - by Apostle Ivory Hopkins This form of manipulation uses the families love and lifestyle against the victims. God meant for a family to have a holy godly soul tie and commitment to each other. Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. But it can become twisted when controlling and unrealistic demands are used by one or several people in a family to control and manipulate the rest of the family. Eph 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; • The honor to parents can become demonic if the parent hold the family under control to demands that are unreasonable and controlling. • I know a family that the mother controlled them so bad that she ruled all of their marriages and in some caused the marriage to end. • It is manipulation when a parent or family members control the marriage of another by making them have to prove who they love the most them or their spouse. • In-law cursing the marriage because your not good enough for them, which opens the door to marriage breaking spirits, until discerned the couple doesn’t know why their always at each others throat. • It can get so deep until the family is running your house from theirs and the wife or husband will have a hard time seeing that their family is controlling your home.
