Parenthood isnt easy, is it? It comes with these booby-trapped guerrilla moments that usually come out of nowhere and take you by surprise. My tween and I had to have a talk today and heres a snippet of how it went: Me: Why didnt you just TELL me? Her: Because I thought you would shout at me. Me: You really think I would shout at you? Me? Her: . Me: I would nag you, sure...but shout at you? I dont think I shout as much as I nag, right? Her: . Me: Tell me the truth. Her: I dont know how to tell you this Mom, but...sometimes...youre a shnag. Okay, wow. Now Ive heard it all! Did she just invent this term to describe me, or is shnag a thing?!
