Parenting Fail #476 Text conversation with Gracie: Gracie: PLEASE MOM??? Can I hang out with him!?!? Me: You’ll have to talk to Dad. Gracie: Oh, and I washed GiGi. Gracie: And I was very grossed out trying to find the dog soap. THANKS MOM. Me: What?? Gracie: I found a GIANT BLACK BOX under your counter. THANKS MUCH! Gracie: I’M SCARRED FOR LIFE!!! Thinking to myself: What the hell is she talking about? Black box? What black…..OH MY GOD, NO!!! Me: Yeeaah….Well, I have no intelligent parental words right now other than don’t open boxes that look different and are in weird places in your parents room. Yup, that’s pretty much all I got. Gracie: I didn’t open the box!!! You should learn to CLOSE boxes with important stuff in them. Me: Well, I wouldn’t say important…more like pinch hitters. Or is it pitch hitters? Whatever. I don’t think grammar matters at this point. Gracie: I’m saddened by this. Me: Don’t be sad. You’ll understand when you’re in your 20’s. I have to go. I’m laughing and snorting so bad in Starbucks I’m getting dirty looks! Sooooo – yup. What you’re thinking is exactly what happened. Gracie accidentally found our “toy box”. I must have hurriedly shoved the obviously UN-locked lockbox under my master-bath sink one of the many times we were surprised by a knock on or bedroom door in the middle of the night and forgot about it. So there it is. Just add another year of “How My Parents Ruined My Life” therapy to her tab. OY! Well, we might as well have fun with my epic embarrassment and latest parenting fail and have a Hashtag Contest. I mean, why not? I cant come up with a good one. Enter your suggested hashtags below.
