Parents Are The Best Teachers? 1. WHY ? Because parents are: 1.1. The first teachers: Since we were brought into the world, parents are our earliest teachers who have taught us basic lessons such as how to crawl, how to walk, how to ride a bike and especially how to behave ourselves. All these lessons are our first baggage to exist in this strange world. 1.2. The voluntary teachers: Parents have never demanded payment for educating. Due to wanting their children become well-educated people, they share all valuable experience fully and wholeheartedly. Children are big hopes of parents, there are no parents feel happy when seeing their children must bear pressure or stress. Whenever their children are cramming for exams, parents always sit up late and stay up early with them to take care of biological needs of children. Parents’ love is profound and overwhelming, it is precious than anything else in this world. 1.3. The loyal teachers: There is no denial that most of children who leave school at the early age or have mental problem are still well behaved and knowledgeable. This is thanks to parents’ education. Such as Thomas Edison, he was actually taught by his mother instead of being trained at school. No matter how old we are, although we are too old to be taught by teachers at schools or universities, parents openly guide and support their children at any time, from the cradle to the grave. 1.4. “The teachers” who give an immense love to “students”: No one loves children as much as their parents do. Very different from teachers, parents do not put much pressure on their children by requesting top marks or forcing them into doing a lot of homework. “These teachers” ceaselessly look after their students’ physical and mental health such as providing proper food, fresh air, good lighting, enough sleep, recreation time, etc. As a result, children will find study comfortable then enjoy study as a part of their hobbies. 1.5. The direct supervisor: While teachers supervise at least 30 students in the class, parents have a maximum of five “students”. Therefore, it is sure that teachers cannot care about his/her students outside classrooms; meanwhile, parents are able to detain children’s bad thinking and behavior immediately. Furthermore, being nearest to children, parents easily give advice and warnings to protect them from dangers. For instance, parents soon tell their children the evils of drink or drug and point out the price that they have to pay if they commit a crime. 1.6. The role model: In children’s eyes, their parents are people that they always admire and try to copy. Each of parents’ acts is engraved on children’s mind, so there are no lessons memorized as well as what they learn from parents. For example, if children see their parents or their siblings study hard, they will be more curious about study. If children see their parents respect their grandmothers/grandfathers, they will do the same thing to elders. 1.7. The closest friends: Children unusually tend to share their own thoughts, feelings and wishes with teachers. Whereas, not only are parents the closed relatives but also the trustiest friends of children. Parents are easier to grasp what their children want or think so that they can teach them in the most appropriate way and spread only the necessary knowledge to fulfill their children’s need. Moreover, owing to family education, parents can realize both weakness and strength of children to minimize weak points as well as develop their superior skills.
