Parents & Swimmers, Since we have been cleared to swim at Barnes, we must remember their storm/lightning policy. Whenever the guards see lightning, everyone must get out of the pool and wait for at least 30 min from the last lightning strike. This is due to the fact that the pool is not grounded. With the storm impacting our area this week, we will be watching and if we need to cancel will hopefully be able to do so before everyone drives all the way up to Barnes. If we have to cancel, a mass email will go out as well as a post to our FB page and a mass text sent from Team Unify. If you have a mobile number, please go in and add it so you can receive the text which is the fastest way possible. I have included instructions to add this. Also, you will come and swim at your normal times. We have the pool from 5:30-7:30. If you are swimming at 5:30, please come a bit early and the coaches will walk everyone in. If your group is starting later, you will go ahead and walk into the building, turn left and let the person at the desk know you are there for the swim team. They will have a sheet with all swimmer names. And again, please follow the rules for Barnes and The Cove that if your swimmer is 9 years and younger, you MUST stay at the pool! Go to My Account > My Account To add an SMS number stay on the current screen You will see a box for “Email and Text Messaging Setup.” Click the Add SMS button to the right of the box. Fill in the Cell Number and Cell Carrier in the pop up and click the Send button A pop up will say that a text has been sent to the cell number for verification Check your cell phone for this message and note the Verification / Validation code. Note that some cell carriers can take awhile to deliver the message. Enter this number in the “Verification Code” field and click Verify. This MUST be done for the number to be activated for use. The cell number will appear in the box with the “Verified” checkbox checked after you input the code.
