Parents dalam dilema, minta pandangan sahabat sekelian. Anak kami - TopicsExpress

Parents dalam dilema, minta pandangan sahabat sekelian. Anak kami akan masuk 5 tahun next year. Baru attend OT/ST selama 7 bulan (intensive 2 bulan and lain2 seminggu sekali) kat private. Dapat ST di hospital kerajaan 3x so far. Dah ada intention nak masukkan dia ke EIP/Rehab untuk sesi pagi next year. Tup2 semalam masa buat ST kat hospital, the speech therapist advised me to enrol our kid kat smart reader coz she thinks my son should have a more conducive environment (e.g. kalau semua orang banyak cakap, aku pun kena banyak cakap). She believes majority of smart readers have trained personnel and I shouldnt disclose that my son is an autistic kid. First time I jumpa this particular speech therapist and she just assessed my sons playing ler while we discussed this thing. She thinks that I should give him the chance to go there, and if after 6 months it is not working, I can always have a fallback plan, masuk ke EIP lepas tu ler. BUT somehow the therapist kat private thinks my son is not ready for it, coz he only has limited vocab and at the moment ada ups and downs in focusing during 1/2 hour ST sessions, i.e. not ready to be put in the normal program. And she thinks the smart readers have the right about our sons condition. Adoiiii pening jadinya and its october already, about time saya register dia. Sesiapa yang ada his or her own story sending anak ke smart reader, boleh share tak? I know it depends on our kids capability, right now anak saya leh cakap dalam 3 words ler....e.g. saya nak makan, main, etc tapi belum boleh bercerita lagi. Terima kasih bebanyak.
